Founded in 1976, Staff International is a multi-service ecosystem, which transforms ideas into creations. Featuring over 40 years of experience in the fashion industry, Staff International is the production and logistics hub of the OTB Group. Currently, Staff International acts as an industrial platform for some of the OTB brands, including Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander and Diesel’s footwear, bags and small leather goods collections. At the same time, the company works on an exclusive worldwide basis with Dsquared2 for the research, product development, production, and omni-channel distribution of its collections.
In 2021 Staff International launched the “Scuola Dei Mestieri” pilot program as part of the Staff Academy project. A group of talented students are selected to take part in a practical apprenticeship program giving them the opportunity to become “Fashion Makers 4.0” under the guidance of Staff International experts.
The main goal of the project is to preserve and pass down more than 40 years of savoir-faire culture and tradition, with an innovative approach that takes account of the new industry 4.0 skills and agile organizational models. The program trains young talents to work in a variety of technical roles and includes sessions with tutors selected by the main Staff International functions.
Starting in 2022, these tutors also include a Sustainability expert, who focuses on the key issues in the Staff International and OTB Group projects. The program stresses the importance for the fashion industry to pass down craftsmanship traditions and innovation, and has been extremely successful: since the School began, more than 85% of the students started their professional path in the Group.
